How I met Kundalini Yoga
On a rainy day in October 2000, two friends invited me to a Kundalini Yoga class. Within the first few minutes of the session I had a profound and inexplicable experience which, in the flash of a second, changed me and my life. When I 'came back' from wherever I had gone, I said to myself: "I am a fish who just met water for the first time." There was no turning back from the One I had met. I move and am moved through life with a connection to the Divine and commitment to 'Sat nam' (true Self). Kundalini Yoga provides me with invaluable tools for supporting and enabling this journey. It is my pleasure and honour, through Thou Art Yoga (which I founded in 2010) to share this practise with all who are moved to connect with me for our mutual healing and positive transformation.
I am a Tobago-based KRI-certified Kundalini Yoga instructor who has been practicing this form of yoga since 2000 and teaching it since 2002. I have taught locally and internationally to students who range in age (adult and youth) and background (corporate groups, members of the public, female prisoners, 'at-risk' children). I also offer one-on-one and group wellness retreats (thus far in Trinidad, Tobago, UK).
In 2009 I received my 'yoga name', Tek Har Kaur, which means 'the kind, creative, spiritually prosperous princess/lioness of God who feels supported by the Divine'. Living up to this spiritual name is not difficult as I feel it encapsulates who I am. Not surprising as these names are chosen based on one' s numerology (birth date).
Through my work with Kundalini Yoga, sound healing and multimedia creativity, I aim to uplift, inspire, shift perspectives and raise awareness in Self and Others.

... and when I'm not teaching yoga
I am a multimedia artist, journalist, self-published writer, musician, award-winning film maker, photographer, animal rescuer/advocate, owner of an intimate two-person restaurant . . . and more. I am always unfolding, finding new ways of expressing and sharing. Through all that I do and all that I am, I aim to inspire, uplift and positively transform self, other and the world around us.
